Just a short distance from our campsite, you can enjoy the Nienoord Regional Products Market every first Saturday of the month from 07-02-2026 to 02-05-2026 From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the grounds of Oosterheerdt Farm, opposite the Rabobank in Leek, are transformed into a lively market full of artisanal and local delicacies.

Discover a wide range of fresh products, such as homemade cheeses, artisanal bread, organic vegetables, honey, cured meats, and much more.

Autocross in Pieterzijl on May 15 and 16 16 is an annual motorsport event in Friesland, where drivers compete on a challenging track of sand and mud. It offers exciting races in various classes, from young talents to experienced racers. The event attracts motorsport fans and creates a lively atmosphere around the track.

 The 4 Winds Tour in Burum on Saturday, May 30, 2026 , offers cyclists a choice of two routes: 45 or 90 kilometers. Each route leads through the beautiful Frisian landscape, past picturesque villages, vast meadows, and the iconic Wadden Sea area. A great way to explore nature and get some exercise!

At Roakeldais in Warffum is the international dance and music festival where the world comes together! Enjoy colorful performances, traditional dances, and enchanting music from all corners of the globe. This unique event takes place from June 24th to 28th and offers a program full of spectacle, culture, and fun. The Swaddekuier takes place annually on Saturday, 4 July 4th in the Northern Frisian Woodlands National Landscape, with the start and finish in Buitenpost. Choose from distances of 10, 20, or 40 kilometers and experience the beautiful nature and culture of the region. Thanks to a collaboration with De Noardlike Fryske Wâlden and Staatsbosbeheer, you will walk through unique landscapes, while musicians and singers provide a lively atmosphere along the way.

With the support of local organizations and businesses, all walkers are well catered for with food and drinks. Join in and experience an unforgettable walking tour!

The Burum Four-Day Cycling Event is holding its 26th four-day event with unique routes through the beautiful Lauwersmeer region! Safety is paramount, with well-cyclable paths, quiet back roads, and clear signage. With pre-registration, the routes are available as GPX files, and along the way, you can take a break at cozy stamping stations with discounts on refreshments – supporting local businesses.

This anniversary year offers extras such as a custom-made T-shirt, a €1,000 cycling voucher, a new laptop, a bike carrier, and other great prizes for participants. Join in and experience this special event from July 6th to 9th! 9 juli!
